Many enterprises have accelerated their transition to the cloud hoping to deliver on the promise of agile analytics and actionable business insights, eliminating data silos in order to make the most of their valuable data assets. Increased regulatory complexity due to GDPR, CCPA, and other emerging data privacy legislation also provides an imperative for companies to understand the scope of sensitive data in their data platform - and to be able to protect it, while still gaining utility from it.
Digital transformation, accelerated by the onslaught of COVID-19, is making CDOs and heads of data analytics rethink their data platform. Having so many employees working remotely presents its own set of challenges to secure sensitive company data, and comes with an increased risk of cyberattacks. It is absolutely critical for enterprises to implement a strategy for secure data access across the organization and ensure that only the right employees have access to the right data in the right format to mitigate risk.
